I chose Ohio Hi-Point because:

I have a love for cosmetology and I wanted to be around like-minded people!

At Ohio Hi-Point, I'm involved in the following activities:

I am a student influencer, meaning I make appearances on social media, take groups on tours, and many lead many other OHP activities. I am a delegate for Skills USA, and I participate in Cut-a-thons and the Craft Show.

My favorite part about Ohio Hi-Point is:

My favorite part of OHP is being able to do what I love to do everyday. I love cosmetology and the social aspect of it all.

My most memorable moment at Ohio Hi-Point was:

My most memorable moment at OHP was when I won the braiding competition my junior year in the old lab. I worked so hard on it and it was the most complicated braid that I have ever done. All of the hard work paid off!

What surprised me most about Ohio Hi-Point was:

What surprised me most about Ohio Hi-Point was how it was so unique from other schools, especially regular public school. I thought it would be mostly regular school work with a side of cosmetology. It's not that at all. While there is a balance for core subjects, the teachers know that you are there for your lab, and they know where your priorities are. There is an amazing balance to it all.

The teacher who has had the biggest impact on me is:

The teacher who has the biggest impact on me is none other than Ginger Shellenberger.

My advice to students who may be looking to apply to Ohio Hi-Point is:

My advice to student who may be looking to apply at OHP is to go with your gut, and just do it. I didn't know I would want to do this until the middle of my sophomore year at Urbana, and it has been the best decision I have ever made. It is so worth it, whether or not you keep doing what you practiced in your lab. It is the experience that matters.

After graduation:

After graduation, I am going to work my way through college in a salon. I am going to a community college to get my regular college courses done, and then I am going to Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science to become a mortician.
