Delay and Closing

With winter weather finally here, it's important that our students and families know where to find the most up-to-date information regarding delays and closings.

In the event of inclement weather, OHP students should follow the delay or cancellation of their partner school and/or OHP. If a partner school delays and OHP does not, it will not count against the students’ attendance for following the delay schedule. Likewise, if OHP delays and the partner school does not, the student will follow the OHP delay schedule.

Ohio Hi-Point delays and closings will be posted at the following places:

  • OHP All-Call System
  • OHP website (www.ohiohipoint.com)
  • OHP Social Media Channels (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter)
  • OHP App
  • WPKO, WBLL, WKTN, Sunny 95, K99.1FM, & WBNS-Radio
  • WLIO TV – Lima
  • WHIO TV 7 – Dayton
  • WBNS 10 TV – Columbus

Inclement weather cancellations or delays are considered excused absences. Please be sure to check with the transportation department at your partner school so you are aware of bussing policy on non-school days in the district.

Ohio Hi-Point can utilize three Blizzard Bag days in addition to the district's snow days.

Blizzard Bags: Students log in to Schoology to complete the assignments and lesson plans posted. Students have two weeks from the Blizzard Bag day to turn in assignments for credit and attendance.

Ohio Hi-Point may also utilize Remote Teaching/Learning Days.

Remote Teaching/Learning: Students and teachers are online the entire day with the same schedule they follow on a regular day. Students will do remote attendance, and teachers will teach and be online regular class periods/times except for Prime Time, Plan and Lunch.

Ohio Hi-Point will let students and families know if students are to work on Blizzard Bags or follow a Remote Teaching/Learning Day.
