I chose Ohio Hi-Point because:

I chose Ohio Hi Point because I felt that it would better extend my medical knowledge before I had to take on the struggles of college. Ohio Hi-Point has offered me classes that have given me a boost and will make my medical college classes easier.

At Ohio Hi-Point, I'm involved in the following activities:

At Ohio Hi-Point, I am involved in the Health Careers Academy. Through this program, I am a member of the Region 5 Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) and I am serving as the 2021-2022 HOSA president. At Riverside, I was involved in Region 16 Business Professionals of America and Logan County Youth Leadership for two years. In Business Professionals of America, I was a Regional, State, and National placer for the 2020-2021 school year.

My favorite part about Ohio Hi-Point is:

My favorite part of Ohio Hi-Point is being able to be around my friends and getting to work in the lab. I have made many friends while attending school here who have the same ambitions as me. I really enjoy being able to hangout with my friends throughout the day. I also really enjoy the hands-on learning that I receive in the lab because it helps me learn better than reading a piece of paper and trying to apply it to real world situations.

My most memorable moment at Ohio Hi-Point was:

My most memorable moment at OHP was going to the YMCA Camp Willson with the Nursing lab. I had a lot of fun getting to show my classmates around my job at Camp Wilson and getting to take a break from school to bond with everyone. While I was there, I also ran for HOSA president, too, which was a lot of fun!

What surprised me most about Ohio Hi-Point was:

What surprised me most about OHP was how caring the staff are with each of the students. I figured when I came to a bigger school than mine that I would not have a very good connection with my teachers because they see so many other students, but I actually could not ask for better teachers. They understand me and my learning style and work around each student's schedule for due dates

The teacher who has had the biggest impact on me is:

The teacher who has had the biggest impact on me has been Mrs. Newland. She helps me with absolutely everything and has brought out strength in me that I was unaware that I had. I could not have asked for a better teacher to teach me the subject that I love.

My advice to students who may be looking to apply to Ohio Hi-Point is:

My advice to students who are looking into coming to this school is try it. Coming to this school has been the best decision I could have made. You get such a boost in your education, and it is all free. I have met so many new friends that are trying to reach the same goal as me. Coming here is also not a full commitment; however, it is hard to say that you will not find it fulfilling. I felt like It was exactly where I belonged. However, if you do not feel comfortable, they will work with you and you can resume schooling back at your home district if you prefer. The administrators will work with you to make things a smooth transition either way. You can also participate in your homeschool activities so you do not have to miss out on the important stuff.

After graduation:

After graduation I plan to attend college and receive my RN. After college, I would like to Work at Nationwide Children's as a pediatric RN.

I've earned the following certifications/college credits:

I have been CPR and first aid certified and certified with the Occupational Safety and Health Administrations.
