FCCLA

Several students from Family, Career and Community Leaders of America at Graham High School and Ohio Hi-Point Career Center advanced to the FCCLA National Leadership Conference after strong performances at the Ohio FCCLA State Leadership Conference.

In addition to national qualifiers, Hailee Cruz, an Education Academy junior from Graham Local Schools, was elected to serve as an Ohio FCCLA state officer. Cruz will represent the organization as Vice President of Community Service after completing a competitive application, interview, and campaign process and earning the vote of FCCLA delegates from across the state.

Students competed in a variety of events designed to assess industry knowledge, leadership, and teamwork skills.

National qualifiers include:

  • Serenity Trapp, Sustainability Challenge – 1st place

  • Jay Miller and Abby Ryan, Chapter Service Project Portfolio – 1st place

  • John Larmee, Say Yes to FCS – 1st place

  • Kendalyn Zerkle and Ava Tudor, Focus on Children – 2nd place

  • Ellie Heaston and Morgan Spitler, Chapter Service Project Portfolio – 2nd place

  • Hailey Langford, Bre Kermode, and Arianna Shamblin, Event Management – 2nd place

  • Lilly Swank and Alexia, Interpersonal Communication – 2nd place

  • Grant Hamilton III, Say Yes to FCS – 3rd place

  • Ellayna Little, Digital Stories for Change –Top 20 in the nation

  • Elec Fryman and Lexus Suttles, Digital Stories for Change – Top 20 in the nation

Additional honors included:

  • 3rd place, Parliamentary Procedure team

  • 3rd place, Kenzie Patrick and Jazmyne Fleming Gage, Chapter in Review Display

  • 3rd place, Lexus Suttles, Chapter in Review Portfolio

  • John Larmee and Lexus Suttles, Platinum Level Service Hours recognition

The Ohio FCCLA State Leadership Conference provides students the opportunity to demonstrate leadership, career and technical skills through competitive events aligned to real-world applications. Students advancing to the national level will represent Ohio this summer at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference.
