cte month

February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, a time to recognize the impact career-technical education has on students, families, employers and communities across Ohio.

Career and Technical Education provides students with the hands-on training needed for in-demand careers. Through career exploration, industry-recognized credentials, college credit opportunities and work-based learning, CTE prepares students for a wide range of post-graduation pathways, including employment, enrollment, enlistment, or entrepreneurship.

CTE programs are built on strong partnerships between education and industry, ensuring curriculum and training reflect current workforce needs.

At Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, CTE Month highlights the expanding opportunities available to students across its campus and partner districts. Ohio Hi-Point serves students from 14 partner school districts and offers a variety career programs designed to connect learning to real-world application and future careers.

OHP's Campus in Bellefontaine serves over 700 juniors and seniors in programs from Cybersecurity and Engineering to Culinary Arts, Health Careers, Welding & Fabrication, HVAC, and more!

OHP also offers satellite programs, career-tech programs located directly within the partner districts OHP serves. Nearly 4,000 students are enrolled in satellite programs, and some programs can start as early as middle school.

Throughout the month, Ohio Hi-Point will spotlight student achievements, career exploration activities, industry credentials and partnerships that demonstrate how career-technical education helps students discover their strengths and prepare for what’s next.

Career and Technical Education Month serves as a reminder of the role CTE plays in building confident learners, a skilled workforce and strong communities.
