Mobile Welding Trailer

Ohio Hi-Point Career Center has expanded its Welding & Fabrication program with the arrival of a new mobile welding trailer, increasing student capacity and access to hands-on training.

The trailer features eight welding booths and serves up to 16 additional students at a time. Students will train in MIG, TIG, stick and flux-core welding using industry-standard equipment.

The mobile unit will be used while the district completes a planned expansion of its permanent welding lab and will also support satellite Agriculture and Manufacturing programs across OHP's partner districts. By bringing the trailer directly to those programs, instructors will have additional space and resources when teaching welding curriculum.

The expansion responds to strong student interest and workforce demand, as the welding program is consistently waitlisted and local employers continue to seek skilled welders. The added capacity positions the district to launch an additional welding program in the 2026–27 school year.
