Twenty-seven Heavy Equipment Operations students recently competed in a local SkillsUSA competition, demonstrating their abilities in equipment operation and industry-related tasks.
Students were evaluated by 13 representatives from local businesses and industry partners who judged several individual events focused on real-world skills and safety practices.
The top three competitors qualified for the SkillsUSA North Super Regional competition to be held at the Richfield Local 18 Training Center. The qualifiers are:
First Place: Cooper Cronkleton, Benjamin Logan High School
Second Place: Daniel Esh, Riverside Local Schools
Third Place: Carson Spencer, West Liberty-Salem Local Schools
Finishing in fourth place as an alternate was Leo Pepple of Waynesfield-Goshen Local Schools.
