EMT LifePak

Ohio Hi-Point's EMT students are gaining real-world experience with a new LifePak 15 Monitor and Defibrillator, giving them hands-on practice using the same technology found in ambulances and emergency rooms.

The LifePak 15 allows students to monitor pulse oximetry, heart rate, and other vital signs while simulating real emergency situations. When working as EMTs in the field, the device automatically retakes vitals every five minutes and can transmit results directly to a hospital, mirroring how first responders deliver critical care in the field.

“This process started last year, and we’re excited to finally have it delivered and ready for student use,” said instructor Shelby Clem. “The LifePak provides students with the experience and confidence needed to operate in those high-pressure environments.”

Ohio Hi-Point's EMT program is part of the district's new two-year Public Safety Academy and can also be taken as a one-year program for rising seniors.
