leadership transition

During its September meeting, the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center Board of Education voted to move up the district’s leadership transition plan. Effective October 1, 2025, Brad Richardson will officially assume the role of Superintendent, and Dr. Rick Smith will transition to serve as Advisor to the Superintendent through December.

Richardson has been overseeing the district’s day-to-day operations in preparation for the superintendent role. The Board’s decision to move up the transition date allows for a seamless continuation of leadership and communication across the district.

“We developed a strong transition plan,” said Richardson, “and I’m grateful the Board recognized our progress and decided to accelerate the timeline. I look forward to continuing to work with our staff to keep moving our district forward and ensure that Ohio Hi-Point continues to provide every student with an excellent career-ready education.”

Board President Anne Reames commended both leaders for their collaboration and commitment. “We look forward to the district’s continued growth under Mr. Richardson and thank Dr. Smith for his decade of leadership and service to Ohio Hi-Point,” Reames said.
