Roto Design

Our Graphic and Media Arts students recently visited Roto Design & Engineering Studios, a leader in creating interactive exhibits worldwide for clients like the Smithsonian and Disney. The visit provided a deep dive into the process of making interactive art, learning, and amusement exhibits, from brainstorming to installation.

Students toured Roto's entire facility, gaining insight into the company's comprehensive process from brainstorming to installation. They observed how ideas are developed, designed, reviewed, and refined based on client and peer feedback, followed by material selection, production, and final installation. Additionally, students had the chance to interact with and provide feedback on Roto's current projects, including interactive video games, drawing experiences, and a wind-sail exhibit.

Students were also told about best practices for finding employment in the industry, as well as opportunities that exist at Roto, such as internships.
