Advanced Manufacturing

The Advanced Manufacturing program provides students with the necessary technical and academic skills to research and create “CAD” product models with features and functions that meet the needs of the customer, manufacturer, and the overall business. Operations provide students with the skills to administer the manufacturing process, including robots/automation, installation, tools and dies, logistics, inventory control, assembly, repair and quality.

Certifications include:

Business and Administrative Services

Students prepare for careers in various business disciplines across a variety of industries. Students also use technology to synthesize and share business information, apply techniques used to manage people, learn accounting procedures and learn the basics of office management. Students participate in the BPA Workplace Skills Assessment program as well as create an Ohio Means Jobs account, doing career research and working to earn a job readiness seal of validation. Students also have the opportunity to participate in College Credit Plus.

  • Office Management

  • Financial Accounting

Students can also earn industry certifications, including:

  • Microsoft Office Specialist Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Media Arts

Students nurture their creativity in a safe and exciting environment. Students craft messages through a variety of software programs and applications. Students work independently and in teams in a remodeled and comfortable classroom to explore the world around them. Students connect to real-world learning by visiting colleges, businesses, movie sets and newspaper printing companies to gain the most out of this educational experience. Students are part of BPA and have the opportunity to strengthen their professional and leadership skills by competing throughout the year. Program highlights include: manage a video newsmagazine, produce the school newspaper, operate a student-run radio station, and coordinate special events.

aviation

Aviation (Grimes Airfield in Urbana)

Students learn the principles of flight, navigation, weather, aircraft design and construction. Students will explore each of the principles through study and hands-on experiments. Students use CAD software and 3D printing technology along with Aircraft Flight Simulation Trainers. Those enrolling at Grimes Airfield also have the opportunity to work with real aircraft at a working airports. Students will repair sheet metal, paint, weld, machine, grind, rivet, recover, sew, form, punch, dill, troubleshoot and assemble aircraft parts and components onto real flying aircraft. Students will study Flight and Ground operations and participate in the restoration of a historic WWII B-17 and other vintage aircraft. Certifications that are available through a capstone include: Remote Pilot Certification (14 CFR Part 107), Private Pilot Ground School Certification, and Private Pilot Certification.
