Free Lunches

EDIT 10/19/2020: USDA and ODE announced the waiver program for free breakfast and lunch for all students will continue through June 30, 2020.

In September, USDA and ODE passed a new waiver for all schools that participate in School Nutrition Programs. As of Monday, October 19, Ohio Hi-Point is now able to serve breakfast and lunch to all students for FREE until the waiver expires on December 31, 2020 (or until the allotted program funds are no longer available—whichever comes first).

This does not change how a student gets breakfast or lunch. Students will still scan their Student ID when checking out in the lunch line, and while all meals are free, any a la carte items such as extra entrees, snacks, and beverages will cost money. If a student has a current lunch balance, the balance will remain on the student’s account.

This program will allow Ohio Hi-Point to serve free breakfast and lunch to all students until Dec. 31, 2020 or until the allotted program funds are no longer available. After this, meals will revert back to the original prices.
