Why I chose Ohio Hi-Point:
I chose Ohio Hi-Point because I needed something different. I had all these aspirations and goals set for myself, and knew that taking action was the only way I could tackle these things to the best of my ability. I've wanted to make music my career for just about as long as I can remember, and when Ohio Hi-Point presented itself [on a Sophomore Career Day,] I recognized the opportunity and potential to make this dream of mine possible, or at least more attainable as a student here immediately. I was amazed by the possibilities within the Multimedia Marketing lab, and knew it was too good to let slip away. I applied as soon as I could and made sure I had everything I needed academically to be accepted into the program.

I'm involved in the following activities at Ohio Hi-Point:
Business Professionals of America (BPA Chapter President,) Student Ambassadors, Student Council (Student Council President,) United Way Youth Allocations, and National Technical Honor Society.

My favorite part about Ohio Hi-Point is:
My favorite part about Ohio Hi-Point is the atmosphere in which I learn--particularly my lab. In the Multimedia Marketing lab, we all come together as diverse and unique individuals to create incredible projects using the skills we've acquired both in and out of class. I love how different we all are from one another and how well we all work together regardless. It's a great feeling, knowing that you're a part of a team and still important and necessary as an individual.

My most memorable moment at Ohio Hi-Point was:
My most memorable moment at Ohio Hi-Point was advancing to Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Competition in the Prepared Speech competition as a junior. The trip was such a wonderful and memorable experience, and it felt like such an accomplishment. I'll never forget it.

What surprised me most about Ohio Hi-Point was:
What surprised me most about Ohio Hi-Point was how wrong everyone is about the school itself. As I readied myself to begin classes at OHP, I found myself anxious over the things people had told me about attending school there. However, once I went in on my first day, I realized they couldn't be more incorrect--every snide and negative comment made about the school was nothing more than a misconception, and judgement of the staff and student body was beyond outdated. OHP has opened so many doors for me as both a student and a human being, and I most definitely wouldn't be the same person had I not made the decision to disregard what I'd heard.

The teacher who has had the biggest impact on me is:
The teachers who have had the biggest impact on me have been Mr. Lacher, Mrs. Walls, and Mr. Gilbert. I've been able to confide in and share my ideas with all three, receiving endless knowledge, support, and inspiration from them all along the way. They've helped me grow into my goals and work for what I want, and have really pushed me to pursue and act on every ambition I have.

My advice to students who may be looking to apply to Ohio Hi-Point is:
My advice to students who may be looking to apply to Ohio Hi-Point is to do it. Absolutely. Only you can make the decision, and when it comes down to your aspirations, you want to be happy in the long run. If one of our outstanding programs at OHP look like happiness to you, do everything you can to push the opinions of others to the back-burner and apply. I've had so many grown adults open up about how they wish they had attended school at OHP when they had the chance--don't let yours be another story of regret.

After graduation:
After graduation, I will be attending Columbia College Chicago, where I'll earn my Bachelors of Music as a Contemporary, Urban and Popular Music student.
