CONVOCATION 2021

It is with great excitement and anticipation that OHP extends an invitation to you and your family to Ohio Hi-Point’s Class of 2021 Convocation Ceremony.

We will also be live streaming the ceremony on our YouTube channel.

2021 Convocation Ceremony
Friday, May 21, 2021
4:30 p.m.

Bellefontaine High School Football Stadium
555 E. Lake Ave.
Bellefontaine, OH 43311

Convocation Auditions: Please click this LINK to sign up to speak, sing a class tribute song, play music or sing the National Anthem. Auditions will be held in the high school conference room next Thursday, April 29 from 1-2:15 p.m.

The Convocation Ceremony will take place at Bellefontaine High School and will be outside in the football stadium.

Why is it at Bellefontaine High School?
With the construction/renovation project ramping up on campus, we are unable to hold it on campus. Due to this, we are partnering with Bellefontaine High School to share resources for our graduating classes to celebrate on the same evening. OHP’s ceremony will take place first at 4:30 p.m. and Bellefontaine’s ceremony will follow.

Are there guest limits and/or tickets to reserve?
There are no guest limits or tickets to reserve. This is an exciting time to celebrate the Class of 2021 and with plenty of seating available, no tickets will be issued. Families will be able to sit together while still socially distancing from others.

What is the dress attire for my graduate?
Men are asked to wear a collared shirt, tie, and dress pants. Ladies are asked to wear a dress, skirt, or dress pants with a nice shirt. Graduates will wear their partner school robe, but no graduation cap is worn. This is a special evening and we ask that no participating seniors wear jeans.

What time does my graduate need to be at Bellefontaine High School?
Participating graduates need to be at Bellefontaine High School by 3:45 p.m.

What about other schools graduating that evening?
We will make an announcement immediately after Convocation to excuse our Riverside students graduating later that evening. After the Riverside students and families have left, we will ask everyone to leave the stadium to allow Bellefontaine time to set up for their ceremony.

Are there rain dates?
In the event of inclement weather (lightening), the rain dates are May 26 and May 30. The decision will be made by 9:00 a.m. the morning of May 21. We will announce the location of the ceremony during Senior Awards Ceremony. You can also check the OHP website, Twitter, and Facebook pages or listen to 98.3 WPKO for any updates.

Senior Celebrations and Activities

All seniors are required to attend and complete their course work for the reminder of the school ear. To participate in Convocation, students must have fees paid (including any computer repair bills), meet all lab requirements, and be eligible to receive a Career-Technical certificate. Seniors should check with their lab instructor if there is any doubt about receiving a certificate.

Senior Awards Ceremony

We are holding our Senior Awards and Convocation practice at Bellefontaine High School (555 E. Lake Ave., Bellefontaine, OH 43311) beginning at 10 a.m. in the auditorium. Due to limited seating, we are unable to accommodate parents for the Senior Awards Ceremony.

If you are a bus rider, transportation will be provided to Bellefontaine High School and will run on a one-hour delay schedule. Our partner school busses will be dropping off students at Bellefontaine High School between 9:15-9:45 a.m. and picking them up by noon to take them back to their partner districts.

If you are a student driver, please arrive at Bellefontaine High School between 9:15-9:45 a.m. and park in the Student Parking lot. The Student Parking lot is located off Harding Street, by the tennis courts and across from the fairgrounds.

Convocation practice will follow immediately after the awards ceremony. Graduates must attend the Senior Awards and Convocation practice to participate in the Convocation Ceremony later that evening (please see the information below for partner school conflicts and what we're doing students can enjoy all the celebrations scheduled for them). Graduates will be dismissed after Convocation practice, and must report back to the Bellefontaine High School auditorium by 3:45 p.m.
