Students will gain the experience needed to either work in the restaurant industry, pursue additional training to become a chef, or a combination of both. This program also exposes students to opportunities for continued culinary education where they can pursue careers as head chefs, business owners and dietitians.
Students manage and operate the career center’s restaurant, The Sloan Inn, and cater several events throughout the year. Students learn quality control of food supplies, proper techniques for cooking and baking, and the use and care of commercial equipment. This ProStart program is accredited through the Ohio Restaurant Association and students have the opportunity to earn a ProStart Certification.

Our Culinary Arts students run and operate the Sloan Inn, the on-campus restaurant. They are also are available to cater and host private events.
