Welding and Fabrication

Welders use heat to permanently join pieces of metal in order to repair parts used in various products and construction. Welders, especially those with a wide variety of skills, are needed both in commercial and industrial businesses. This program provides students with a basic understanding of arc welding, oxy-acetylene welding and cutting, plasma cutting, carbon arc, gas metal arc welding, tungsten inert gas welding, and welding safety.

The Welding program offers the potential to earn industry certifications, and you may also be eligible for school-to-work, allowing you to work while still in school, earning money and real-life work experience. Internships and college credit are available through this program

The program is self-paced, allowing room for a variety of learning opportunities and certifications.

You'll learn:

  • Safety procedures
  • Oxy-acetylene
  • Welding gas metal arc welding (MIG)
  • Tungsten inert gas welding (TIG)
  • Shielded metal arc welding
  • Fabrication and blueprint reading
