Program Description
This College Tech Prep program is designed to prepare students for careers dealing with computers, graphics and technology. Students will gain the necessary skills to repair computer systems, provide technical assistance, and use software to create videos, graphics and animations. Students concentrate on the skills needed to acquire IC3 and MCAS certifications (MOS, A+, and IC3) to work in the computer industry or further their education.

Program Highlights:
- Participate in managing a help desk for student laptop program
- Conceive, design and deliver unique interactive content with the same tools as professionals
- Learn basic theory and technique in developing marketable websites.
- Produce multimedia projects which include digital graphics and audio.
- Become expert in a variety of software packages
- Learn skills necessary to design, install and troubleshoot computer systems
- Learn hardware repair and software troubleshooting

Post-Secondary Options
Graduates who enroll in local 2 year colleges in computer-related programs may receive college credit for work completed in this program. College Tech Prep scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to $1,200 per year are available to students who attend our partner colleges.
Students taking this program should enroll in a fourth year senior math course (Alg. II or higher), keep a 2.5 GPA and complete a senior project to prepare for their college program.

Academic Preparation Needed Before Entering Program:
- A strong interest in computer software and hardware
- Junior status at your high school
- “C” average or better in Algebra
- 2.0 or better overall GPA
- Interest in post-secondary technical education
- Keyboarding or equivalent
